Help Others

We desire to be benefit and blessing to all the world. Below you will find many opportunities to join in the helping or care for others. You might notice that we don’t differentiate between care or help given in our neighborhood, in our country or other countries. We believe we are called to be benefit and blessing to all and national or land boundaries are not what matters most.

Loaves and Fishes

On the 4th Tuesday of every other month we prepare and serve a meal for over 200 homeless/working poor at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Minneapolis. In addition to meeting an immediate basic need for families/individuals, we have the chance to share life with people, if only for a short period of time. It is surely a blessing to us, and hopefully to those we serve.

There are a few ways to participate: Purchase food for the meal (or give $ for us to purchase food). All food needs to be dropped off in the downstairs kitchen at Solomon’s Porch by the preceding Monday. Volunteer your time for Food prep from 2:45-4:45 and Serving/clean-up from 4:45-6:45. Thank you all for making this happen! If you have any questions please contact Tom P. at loavesfishes@solomonsporch.com

Guatemala Home Building

We seek to care for the poor. To follow in the example of Jesus we seek to reach out to the poor. And with the gift of a home, hopefully change their place in society, helping to lift them from the bottom. The individuals we build houses for have no notable means of support from family or community to obtain a home on their own.

We seek a cross-cultural mission experience and to use or discover our talents to strengthen our bond with the community.

We seek to support the global church and create community that extends beyond Solomon’s Porch.

We seek to get to know each other and have a fantastic time!
