In effort to create ways for the people of the Solomon's Porch community to participate in one another's lives and to teach each other, we are offering Life Development Forums.

Activities for all ages of children are offered during the Forum sessions, so parents are free to attend the session of their choice.

To sign up for a particular Forum please fill out the sign-up sheet at church or e-mail

Why Sunday Night Forums?

The Sunday night Life Development Forums are in the process of being created in order to make space for Porch people to more intentionally share parts of their lives together, in a format that is unique from and complementary to the other regular Porch activities in which we also share our lives (Wednesday night dinners, Sunday night gatherings, etc.).

But what’s driving this particular format? First, we know we want to follow God holistically, with all parts of our lives becoming integrated with the ways of Jesus more and more—our finances, our physical health, our jobs, our families, our recreation—but tackling all of it at the same time, usually on our own, is pretty tough. Second, we recognize that so many Porch people have experience, knowledge, and interest in many of these “whole life” areas that could be of help and interest to other Porchers—but they may not realize that what they have to share is useful! So the Forums are one place where we want to take time to learn from each other, in short sessions and in community.

We hope that each offering will not only provide information that’s useful for your lives, but that people will be encouraged to start integrating it and walk together through the sometimes difficult or awkward initial phase that making changes like living by a budget, starting an exercise program, or learning to pray in new ways can bring. It is our prayer that this kind of hands-on learning together will be more helpful, more healthy, and more fun.
