Hungry
People
So they pulled out loaves and fishes
And that they got from a little boy
With nothing more than a basketful of wishes
That would have barely fed the kid
You were there to feed a hungry people
To show you give us daily bread
And as the bread was broken, did you wince?
Knowing your hour would be ahead?
The sand was hot beneath your feet
And you didn't eat for forty days
When you were weak Satan came to tempt you
Saying, ÏDare you to turn this stone to bread!Ó
You came to feed a hungry people
So we don't live on bread alone
I know you're God, but do you ever wonder
Why we ease our hunger eating stone?
If we asked you to teach us, Rabbi
How to speak and touch your heart
You would know above all others
How to finish what we can't start
You came to feed a hungry people
To give us life through our daily bread
Through the fruit of the blood you shed
We find life abundant once again. 2x
